We also cater for international community events and involve everyone within our loving community. Our centre is built on love, a passion for teaching and the knowledge that our children are the future and deserve the best education possible. We encourage our children to play to their heart’s content while the teachers support and extend their learning.

To the team at the Enchanted Garden – Thank you. What a welcoming place, warm and friendly with heart and passion. You have created a home away from home for our daughter. Selena Harkness

The Enchanted Garden Nursery and preschool has been a home away from home for both my girls over the last 3 years. Milly adores all the teaching staff and I know her days are filled with warmth and happiness. We are very thankful for the awesome care the Enchanted Garden staff have provided and highly recommend the centre! Emily House

Carmen loves it here and is always talking about her teachers and friends at home. When first enrolling her I’d looked at a few pre schools but this one felt more right. Shes definitely thriving there. Sammii Hill

This team has been very patient with my son, for him to learn and relax and settle in at his own pace. Even 7 months later, there’s no change, always calm. I couldn’t ask for more this preschool. Anna Tauanu’u

The Enchanted Garden is amazing, its great to see our beautiful girl coming home glowing from her day at the nursery. Thank you so much to all the team for being so marvelous and tolerant lol. Jono Harper

We looked at a lot of centres but The Enchanted Garden was easily the stand out. The team are super lovely and dedicated to providing a safe, happy and respectful environment for the children and babies. I can leave my wee girl there and know that she is happy and well cared for in her home away from home. Emma Walker

Our Philosophy

Our mission at The Enchanted Garden is simple. We aim to create a magical experience for our children by providing the highest quality of education and holistic childcare in Christchurch. We do this by creating a welcoming, homelike environment within our centre and keeping teacher to student ratios intentionally higher than industry averages. This means we can create a more engaging and individual experience for our children, and give them the care they deserve.

We believe that parents know their own child the best and are their first teachers. Therefore we support and work in partnership with our whanau to support the ongoing learning of their child.

We value quality interactions down at the child’s level, being aware of their needs. We like to laugh, play and learn alongside the children.

Relationships are an integral part of our culture and we believe that these should be responsive and reciprocal with all involved as it takes a village to raise a child.

The Enchanted garden teaching team encourage children to grow up as unique, capable and confident learners by providing them with a balanced programme that incorporates opportunities for planned and spontaneous play.

We acknowledge the importance of each child and whanau cultural values/beliefs. We strive to uphold these within our programme and incorporate and respect the beliefs and values of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Maori.

Te whariki is the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum which is incorporated into all areas of the children’s learning pathways. This document also supports teachers to provide a holistic and inclusive curriculum for all tamariki working alongside all involved in the learning journey.

Our goal is in partnership with our whanau and community to build a robust foundation where children are able to learn and develop while making a unique and valuable contribution to society.

This philosophy drives the curriculum that makes sure our children are really ready for primary school. By providing individual attention to each child and measuring their progress, we can provide unique, high-quality learning opportunities that make them better prepared for life.

The Education Review Office | Te Tari Arotake Mātauranga (ERO) is the New Zealand government’s external evaluation agency. It evaluates and report on the education and care of learners in schools, kura, kohanga reo, puna reo, and early childhood services.
